THE PLATFORM

A connected home for planning and operational work.

Planning and operational work depended on connected data, models, workflows, and decisions that often existed across separate tools and processes. CPR evolved as a common platform for bringing those capabilities together in a more coherent and usable environment.

A platform, not a single application

CPR is the umbrella for a growing set of planning, analytics, modeling, and operational capabilities. Its story is best told at two levels: the platform that brings work together, and the focused tools that address specific needs within it.

The capabilities below describe what CPR helps people do. The platform features describe the reusable foundations that support those capabilities across the experience.

A platform built to evolve

CPR has grown by identifying a planning or operational need, understanding its data and workflow, and incorporating a focused capability into a shared environment. The individual case studies linked below will explore selected parts of that work without exposing confidential employer information.

WHAT CPR DOES

Capabilities built around the work.

Focused business tools and functional areas within the CPR ecosystem.

Operational Intelligence

Context and visibility supporting planning and analysis.

01

Plan Details

Brings together the projects, assumptions, costs, status, and supporting information that define a planning scenario, giving users one place to understand and manage the plan as a whole.

02

Node Information

Creates a consolidated operational view of a network node, combining core attributes with planning context, subscriber trends, congestion indicators, and other information used to evaluate need and priority.

Modeling & Forecasting

Reusable models that connect planning scenarios to cost, labor, and material needs.

03

Cost Modeling

Estimates project and network costs using reusable model logic, while also providing statistical views that help planners understand cost ranges, variation across markets, and key drivers.

04

Resource Modeling

Translates planned work into expected labor demand, helping connect project volumes and market assumptions to staffing and workload requirements.

05

Material Forecasting

Converts planned construction activity into forward-looking material demand, providing visibility into expected part usage and timing.

Financial & Decision Support

Financial visibility and information for comparing options and making informed decisions.

06

Project Financials

Brings together project-level financial activity across key cost categories, helping users understand actual spending, cost composition, and financial progress.

07

Program Status

Provides visibility into in-flight projects, including delivery status, target dates, and Budget-to-Actuals performance, with project history connected back to the underlying network asset.

Work Management & Collaboration

Tools that help people organize work, share information, document contributions, and collaborate around common goals.

08

Projects & Tasks

Provides a shared way to organize projects, assign and track tasks, capture progress, and maintain visibility into work that spans people and priorities.

09

Deck Builder

A web-based presentation workflow that lets contributors assemble, review, and generate PowerPoint decks collaboratively, with controlled internal or public sharing.

10

Accomplishments & Goals

Lets users record accomplishments over time and connect them to broader goals, creating a living record of contribution that can support reflection, reporting, and year-end review.

11

Newsletter

Provides a structured way to collect, organize, and share updates across the organization, helping surface progress, accomplishments, and information that might otherwise remain fragmented.

12

Kudos

Gives users a simple way to recognize one another’s contributions, creating visible peer acknowledgment and reinforcing the people behind the work.

Knowledge & Decision Support

Structured access to business knowledge, platform context, and analytical information.

13

AskCJ

A home-grown conversational knowledge layer that uses structured domain templates, business lexicons, and proprietary context to help users explore CPR information without depending on an LLM. It can also generate an Analysis Package that carries curated business context into an LLM for deeper analysis.

WHAT MAKES CPR A PLATFORM

Foundations shared across the platform.

Reusable architecture, access patterns, and design elements that support each capability.

Role-based access control

Shared application, role, permission, navigation, and route controls across the platform.

Data-driven navigation

User-specific menus and application access generated from centralized permissions.

Integrated analytical dashboards

Reusable dashboard patterns that combine operational, planning, financial, and model outputs into a single application experience.

Shared application architecture

Common front-end, API, authentication, and Oracle data-layer patterns supporting multiple capabilities.

Database-driven tutorials

A reusable tutorial engine stores guided walkthroughs as structured content, allowing in-application learning experiences to be updated without rebuilding the interface.

Contextual help & documentation

Database-managed help content can be associated with specific pages and workflows, giving users guidance in the context where it is needed.

DATA DOMAINS

Connected information across the work.

The breadth of business and operational data brought into the CPR environment.

MY ROLE

Built and evolved end to end

CPR has been developed as an individual-contributor-led platform, spanning concept, architecture, data design, application development, implementation, deployment, production support, and continued refinement in close collaboration with the people who use it.
